Congratulations on the new book, Bill. (Bills!) It looks really lovely.
You reminded me that I have a little fragment of trivia about MG that I've always wanted to use. Somewhere in the Linnet Muir stories the child version of Linnet is playing with dolls. She does all the voices and refers to it as Marigolding. It's so cryptic and beautiful. Now I'm second guessing myself whether that is a Linnet story or a MG story and will have to hunt down the book, but it's a good excuse to re-read those stories which I love so.
Hi Sara - thanks so much. She writes about Marigold in the intro to Selected Stories, and also in The Doctor. Somewhere else, too. There's a moment, I should check, I think in Madeline's Birthday, the first published story, where Madeline, turning 17, receives from her mother -- sent to the house in Connecticut where Madeline is staying -- a slinky gown and what she wants is a dollhouse. Where else? One of the later stories, a character talks about having her dolls until she was 15, when her mother got rid of them. Can't think of which, will check. Yes, it's one of those intriguing, rich, minor strands. I saw Anna B last night, first time in years and years. Your ears may have burned with all the fondness. b
Thanks, Cathie, that's incredibly kind. It makes me glad to know you're reading them, and I hope you've got something on the hob that will be ready soon. best to you, b
Sarah Ellis and I shared a mutual friend Renate Stainton from our library days at St.Clair - Dufferin at TPL in the 70’s so it is lovely to see that Sarah has published another book. Thank you so much for all your work writing this. I love it.

Yes yes yes to the MG doll idea. YES. How can we, your adoring fans, help/support/encourage?

Thank you, that means a lot. And As Glenn as Can Be is really beautiful. And, of course, wonderfully written. Appreciate your kind words, very much. b
