I should note that I intended to write "such a situation," and that "sucking a situation" is obviously a Freudian error, given the content of this post. I laugh with you, believe me...

I just want to let you know that Vehicule Press are terrific to deal with. I had a question re confirmation of my order; it was answered promptly as was the processing of the Shipment.

I hope to clear a big block of time next week to read the book. I fear I’ll start and won’t stop to the last page.

Thanks so much for inspiring and carrying out this project.

Thanks, Carol, very much. I'll pass your compliments along to Simon and Nancy and Carmine and the small but mighty crew at Vehicule. I don't think I had much to do with inspiring the project, it grew out of conversations with Neil and Marta who are the blackbelt wearing MG experts; it was fun to work on, and an honour to be associated with them. I so appreciate your kind words and support. All best, BR

Oh my God, Bill, I love the way you collect, connect, and squirrel away the most interesting factoids. Your mind is like that of a wonderfully out of control hoarder, always able to find more drawers, cupboards, shelves and closets to stuff with finds at the latest yard sale.

This Mavis Gallant obsession has been a special treat, like a secret passageway in Nancy Drew's attic that leads to all sorts of mystery and adventure. Huge congratulations on your new book! Your energy is inspiring!

Maybe the name change from Voltz was due to anti-German sentiment as in 1918 the war was ending. Fun to speculate, Bill!

Hi Penn - Thanks, that's something I hadn't considered and you might be well be right. I suspect that there was something close to adoption that went on -- but suspect on what grounds? Just what I would have liked to have seen happen, I guess, and we all know what that counts for. Cheers, thanks, BR

A number of names were changed then... In 1916, the city of Berlin, Ontario changed its name to Kitchener, for example. So, both/and, perhaps, Bill :)
