Couldn't hit the "Like" button on this one because the interview passage you quote is too disturbing -- but also, of course, brilliant and insightful. Because of your diaries, I am looking at MG's writing again. Pulling books off my shelves that have been sitting there for decades.

At 22 MG was so wise in her understanding of just how important the Why of it all is.
